STARTING
THERAPY

Beginning counselling can feel like a big step, and it’s completely natural to have questions or uncertainties. The process is designed to be straightforward, supportive, and guided at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

How I Work

I offer integrated counselling and psychotherapy, which means I draw from a range of therapeutic approaches to support your individual needs. This flexible approach allows us to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a way that feels most helpful for you, working at a pace that is comfortable and respectful of your circumstances.

What to Expect

Over time, counselling can help you gain greater understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the patterns that may be affecting your wellbeing. Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, therapy can help you develop new perspectives, strengthen coping strategies, and feel more able to move forward in your life.

Your First Session

Your first counselling session gives us the opportunity to explore what has brought you to therapy and what you would like support with. We will talk about your experiences, any goals you may have, and begin to build a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe to talk openly. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and there is no pressure to share more than you feel ready to.

Therapy is a collaborative process, providing a confidential and non-judgemental space to explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences with support and understanding.
